| If Erik wasn't born deformed how would his life have been different. Would he be the next musical sesation, get the love of his life, what? | |

| This probably belongs in character discussion but ANYWAY I highly doubt anyone would know of Erik if he wasn't deformed. If his mother hadn't thrown him onto the streets, he never would have traveled with the circus, learned magic tricks, or lived in the cellars of the Opera Garnier. It is still highly possible for him to have become an architect, but he would just be a normal man and I wouldn't have anything to obsess over in my spare time. | |

| How much of his genius was born because of his deformity?
Without his deformity, Erik most likely would have simply been average unless something else out of the norm cam about.

If Erik had been a handsome, or even normal man he deffinatley would have not turned out to be the same Erik we all know. No doubt he would still be highly intelligent, but I don't think he would have the same devotion to his music, building and creating that he does as a deformed man. He would have had friends, interaction with his family...and lady friends. I think his deformity is a blessing and a curse...mostly a curse, though. With his deformity, it makes people respect and admire him for him...not looks or anything else that might get in the way. But along with that, there is all the hatred and terror of shallow minded people who cannot accept what is different.
