| Subject: My E/C manipulations... Thu Dec 22, 2011 5:47 pm | |
| For anyone who likes Erik and Christine together...
Ever since I saw my first E/C manipulations by Elavielevenstar and Spikesbint- I have been entranced with the idea and wanted to do my own. (Note: These women are two talented E/C manip artists whose work has been stolen and is currently being sold by the thief on ebay, on keychains, checkbook covers, etc, so please don't buy from her and support her thievery -her name is catslin. I contacted her about it and she thinks it's okay to take money for this because someone sold her the pics on ebay a few years ago and told her she could do it- but it was NOT the artists who did this. I know Angela - Spikesbint- and she would not do this. And Elavielevenstar has a note on her website against such a thing too.) (Sorry, I know that was a bit off topic, but I just found out about the theft last week while Christmas shopping.)
Anyway, E/C manips (manipulations) are when you paste their heads and sometimes other parts of body onto romance covers, other movie shots, etc- using photoshop and paint and more. Trust me, it sounds a lot easier than it is. But I have wanted to do my own manipulations ever since I saw theirs. I finally had the chance to learn a few years ago, when I got Adobe photoshop, and since then this has become as much of a hobby to me as writing phanphics and making fandom music vids. lol One manipulation can take days, even weeks to make, (a few hours a day)- depending on the level of difficulty, as much time as a music vid.
I have an account at deviantART if anyone would like to see my work (I posted one of my manips below). I can't post a link yet to it, since I'm new, but I'm honeyphan there. Currently I have 17 manips of E/C I have posted there, from sweet and romantic to NC-17.
Here is my latest E/C manip, for Christmas. I make these to go with scenes in my phanphic stories and usually completely paint and manip the background, clothes, etc to fit too. With this one, I changed the wall, painted the curtains, the carpet, added to her dress, his clothes, the piano a bit, etc, to make it more historical (it was a modern cover). I hung the mistletoe (haha), painted a bow and cord to it, painted some more of her hair to fit pose, painted the hands a bit different than original artist had them (his) and coloring of their faces, etc, to fit. Only thing I haven't touched is the picture on the wall (yet). lol After Christmas, I plan to take the greeting out and maybe add a candelabrum and paint highlights on them to show candlelight, to make this evening and not day. Anyway, hope you enjoy! (The original romance cover I used is below my E/C manip). My avatar is one of the earlier stages when I was still in the process of creation, and I'm still ironing out a few small details with the pic below. : This... ...made from this: | |
